I just bought a frame been in shed for years numbers nice n clear 2583 first 4 and it has a little bracket which holds the red coil on what's best way of telling if it's original or not . I see from the back its tack welded with 3 tacks the middle one is offset to the top and bottom one .i try and put pictures on

I think ftom memory "but I might be wrong"
By the way the two fixed nuts are welded to the CDI bracket
The nuts are resistance welded so there is no visible sign of a weld but there should be very fine indents on the top face of the two nuts, very similar to the fixings on the horn bracket that's welded to the frame on a GP as theses are also resistance welded.
As I say I might be wrong as its a very long time ago since I had one to look at.

Yep two threaded holes as you look at the frame from the near side of the scooter, but if you look from the other side of the bracket you should have two pieces that are resistance welded on that look a little like nuts.
The bent bracket itself shouldn't have a thread just two drilled holes that the two what look like nuts are welded to.
If you look at your frame where the horn sits it's done very similar to that.
I've welded a CDI bracket to mine similar to the original but it's obvious it's not because it does not look like the factory welded fastenings on the horn bracket.

It should not have any nuts, rather having the thread tapped directly into the bent sheet bracket itself.

Adams knowledge will be far better and much more reliable than mine.

It was just how I remembered it on an old original GP 200 Electronic frame. But it's that long ago now that I'm obviously confusing myself.

I probably should not be saying this, in fear of more 'suspect' examples flooding the market, but Scootopia even went as far as supplying reproductions of the bracket, which are of the correct dimensions and thickness, without nuts but the correct thread tapped directly through the sheet.

A few people have looked at it who know their stuff and seem to be happy it's an electronic frame . So let the search for parts commence lol

Hi Stuart which few people as had a look at it ? Too confirm it is a genuine electronic frame
the pic you have put on face book of the bracket tells me it is not a electronic frame
you can see it as been tack welded on, not the three spot welds it should have and length off the 90 degrees bracket looks wrong
but this is my opinion only
good luck with it
