Could send one please direct me in the right direction as regards to the best components to change my TV175 series 2 from 6v to 12v. It's bit of a minefield out there for a newbie to Lambretta's. Looking a the cost also. I don't mind paying for quailty part. Thanks

You have a choice of 12v with points or electrictronic. What do you want to improve.

Hi,
I used 12volt stator coils that were available from ebay (keeping the points for easy maintenance) but scoot rs sell the coils or complete 12volt stators.If used with the wassell D.C conversion and 5amp/hr battery you will have good lights and a horn that works.You will need a 12 dc horn if you go down this route. Google lambretta 12 volt dc conversion and also have a look at the scooterotica site.The old LCGB forum had many posts on the subject perhaps one of the pioneers of the wassell conversion i.e soulsurfer, mkmonty,coaster, firedkp et al can post some pics or wiring diagrams that they hold on their computers and could upload to rebuild the data base

Thanks for your replies guys. I'm basically looking to uprate the lights and horn. I would like to keep everything else nice and simple.

The TV 2 is still running a four pole stator and flywheel ?

Tere used to be a way to do it on the old site,
basically you take the two yellows join them together and put it thru a regulator.
Ive run this on a bike with no problems.

I believe so. Everything is standard 6v.

Your probably better fitting a replacement 6 pole stator and flywheel. You can convert the existing four pole to 12v but there's not the same output as with a 6 pole and I wouldn't think the time and money spent converting the 4 pole would be worth it.
You could fit a second hand 6 pole points condenser stator from a later Italian series 3 TV SX or LI and have it converted to 12 volt or you could buy a complete new electronic 12v stator and flywheel for an LI/SX/TV crank complete with CDI and rectifier.
If I was fitting a complete new electronic setup I would sooner fit a GP type with the longer and much stronger taper but that would mean changing the crank at the same time and that's a complete top end engine strip plus new mag side bearing at the least.
I think the best and cheapest option would be a secondhand later Italian die cast flywheel & stator and have it rewired to 12 volt.
