S1/2 stand sleeves, possibly thin tubular plastic? Anyone make/use them during a rebuild? Its just to save metal to metal contact..

Not quite the same thing... but I use motorcycle dry chain lube for exactly the same task... It lubricates, but does not attract grit in the same way that grease does.

Thanks for the reply foremanbob, ive used similar grease on my previous S1 and ptfe tape on my Tv1 but was asked by a guy building his frame up for suggestions. and came up with plastic tubing but whether this would clamp up preventing the movement of the stand i dont know...trial and error i suppose..

Andy.
