Hello all. I've been having some issues with my front (cable) disc brake from ScootRs, in that, it seems to bind on as I'm riding. I've been told that there's an inherent manufacturing problem with the remade actuator arm(??) Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, any solutions? I imagine nos must be rare as hens teeth and rediculously expensive!

Scootopia did an arm that (apparently) cured this, but they're out of stock.
They are about £40 and I've asked them if they're getting any more but have had no response.
Give them a shout; maybe they'll respond to market demand!

A few original ones turn up on flea bay for around £20 - £30 , and apparently ScootRS now make a stronger version of the arm but not sure how much stronger the spring is !!

I experience the same problem on two units -its infuriating - the brake stays on when the spring doesn't return. My scootsrs discs are fairly new (<9 months) so I suspect that the "stronger" spring is fitted.

Think I'll contact ScootRs and see if they acknowledge the issue. I notice their new op arm was added in Jan 15, so maybe, Covboy, you haven't got it(???) anyhoo, I think they should do a discount on the newer version. I'll let you know how I get on

I've got a scootRS front disc brake,my brake arm didn't return so I fitted a compression spring on the cable between the actuator and the brake stop on the backing plate, this did the job and it returns ok now.

No reply from ScootRs as yet. Paul, how did you fix that spring? Is it an easy (ish) job?

I've set my brake cable up as a reverse pull and the compression spring fits on the cable between the brake actuator and the adjuster that fits through the brake stop hole on the back plate. It's a two minute job.
