Michelin S1 Tyre

Postby Bugracer69 » Sat Oct 31, 2015 5:58 pm

Hello

Hoping you can help/advise please as I'm sure it's been asked a million times already..

I have a GP200 SIL

I've got a new set of Michelin S1 tyres and Airstop 10 B4 inner tubes, having trouble assembling these as the tyre seems to want to cover the value hole.

Any idea'ss on to resolve or do you think the tubes are incorrect.

Cheers

Are you using pattern rims as some have the valve hole in the wrong place. Also newer tyres tend to be thicker on the bead to allow them to be used tubeless.

This was imported from India and unsure what they are, can't see any markings . Is there a way of checking ?

I would advise against using Airstops, the valve is in the wrong place and will be put under strain when fitted. You need Upol ones, plenty of dealers stock them including Just Lambretta. Thicker rubber too and a lot safer. Airstops AND S1's is just asking for trouble imho.

I've had this problem in the passed and it was due to the holes being in the wrong position on the crap pattern rims. IMO your best bet it to buy a set of Scootopia rims (from Scootopia obviously) and a pair of tubes with offset valves, my preference is Mypols from AF Rayspeed but Scootopia also sell their own.
