I have a spare Special headset bottom that I repaired so decided to get another top to make a set as the spare top I have did not fit. Bought one advertised on a scooter website and find that it is about 10mm shorter at the front ( same as my spare one )which looks to be untampered with so does anyone know what model they may be off ?.
I have another Special scooter which has exactly the same base as the spare one so I know that is right.....................or is it

When i converted a headset top for a Smiths chrono some years back somebody sent me one of these , I have a good idea it came off a Vietnamese import , they had shortened the headset bottom to suit as well , A lot of work !!

could be early spanish, despite what people say the numbers on both tops and bottom do not often really do not guarantee a match, even original paired headsets having a big gap control end
