Dansi 6v ignition coil

Postby GeneM » Tue Jul 08, 2014 4:40 am

Ducati coils are marked 1 and 15, Dansi have an R and nothing on the other terminal.

No books handy at the moment so can anyone clarify that Ground goes to R? Or does Green?

Thanks!

Looks like Ive stumped everyone!

Ive connected Green to the R and it runs fine so I guess that's how Ill leave it :)

(as a test, I also connected Ground to the R and it worked..so who really knows!)

As with the Ducati coil it will work both ways but the right way is supposed to kick out more power

Yes that's about right, if its wired the wrong way around it looses approximately 20% if its potential power output, but it will run either way around.
And sorry I don't know which is the earth or live feed on the Dansi coil. I did once know but that was about 37 or 38 years ago when I last ran one.
