Cheers Grandpa and Ross. Can you please point me in the right direction to get hold of one of these?

Hi Raveydavy,
You should be able to get a toggle switch from a motor factors something like this:

A 10 amp switch will handle 120 watts (watts = volts x amps) most lambrettas only produce about 80 watts if you are lucky.15 amp would be even better

There is also another way to switch all power off from the battery, if anybody is feeling a bit more technical.
I used the Scootrs ignition switch, which incorporates an extra auxiliary switch in it, to switch a 30A relay on and off when I switch the ignition on and off.
Obviously you need to use an unswitched supply to feed the control circuit, so I fuse this down to 2A with an inline fuse holder. I then took another supply from the battery fused to 15A to feed through the relay. The feed through the relay powers the lights, horn etc.
Why through the relay some have asked. Well, I was not too sure of the switching capability of the Scootrs switch, I'm pretty sure it won't handle 30A though! A relay is much easier to replace than a headset ignition switch and I know the relay will switch up to 30A without problems, the 15A fuse will blow before the relay contacts weld together.
I'll try and knock up a wiring diagram if anybody is interested, but it's just the same as any car spotlight relay diagram you can find on the net.
