Float weights

What effect will using a heavier float in my carb be? I have a 30mm phbh and the float has developed a leak. I have a selection of nos floats that I picked up from a dealer years ago, only thing is they range from 3.3 grams up to 11.7 grams and none of them are 5 grams like my leaky one. What would the result be of using a heavier or lighter float?

From Google.....

"A heavy float will cause the carburetor to dump a rich mixture into the combustion chamber. The engine will foul the spark plug quickly and use more fuel than expected."
