AF Casssett clutch

Need help with a tuning kit, how do you tune your scooter, which kit should I choose, and all general tuning and modifcations questions are for in here.

Has any body got through a set of plates yet, I've done 10,000 plus miles and its still doing fine.
its always ridden hard and has been totally faultless. Ive just got a feeling it will be one of those products that will keep working right up to the point where its totally worn out, with no warning signs.

mines been in over 3 years and still going strong, I dont do many miles tho

I have the LTH cassette clutch, and I have decided to buy a spare set of plates, even thou I've had the original set in ages, and they look fine.... but old habits die hard :D :D

I have just fitted an AF road clutch to my TS1 and will be buying a spare set of plates at some point but I also have a Morris SSC clutch that I already have a set of spare plates for. I can't use the Morris clutch as one of the steels is warped and spares don't seem to be available. That led me to do some investigation into Japanese motorcycle clutches and it seems that there is a great similarity between most of the Honda range and possibly Suzuki too i.e. same number of tabs on the corks (8) and same number of teeth (24) on the steels. Some have 4 plates, some 5 and some 6 but they all LOOK the same in photographs. I have ordered a steel from a 125 Honda on the off chance. I think the AF has 8 tabs on the friction disks so was wondering if the steels might be the same as the Morris clutch to and possibly a chance of interchangeability?

Mine has done the last 2 euros, coast to coasts, derby 150 and everything in between.
Ill strip down and replace and keep this set as spares, doesn't feel right to have a part that is abused every time I ride and doesn't fail.

Has anyone experienced any 'grabbing' when pulling away at all? I've still got less than 20 miles on mine so for but it's a bit like my old T5. I have the Li type nipple on mine and was wondering if the pressure plate adaptor thingy might be displaced? I also think I read somewhere that some fettling with a small file is sometimes necessary to get the plates to move smoothly?

There were reports of the cast road ones having the hole slightly off center which would give a slight judder when pulling away.
Mine has this but it doesn't bother me. Or slight snagging on the tabs and turrets. A clean up with a file or some have found
Turning the clutch stack round to the next position cures this.

Hi mate

I replace my plates when I had reason to take the engine to bits, (piston circlip went a wandering), this was 2-3 years after initially fitting the AF cassette clutch and after 14-15,000 miles. In fairness the plates didn't really need changed but we did anyway as it was a sensible thing to do. (I'm sure the new plates and springs only came to £40). I carry the 'used' plates with me now, as spares, wrapped up in a sealed bag.
Can't rate these AF Cassette Clutches highly enough (mine was the more expensive £400 one). I be having another for my next engine build.
