Is there any secret to removing the rear wheel on a series 2 without letting the air out and then struggling to get the wheel out and chipping the paint on the rear hub.
On the series three you can spin the side panel retaining arm out of the way to assist removal but on the two you can't being fixed.
I even have to let the tyre down to get it back in - which defeats the object of the excel isle if you have had a puncture.
Made a right mess of my hub.
Any tips would be gratefully received..

Bolti -- best cutting to the chase, as I ha to do eventually,
1. Cut a corner of the rear mudguard
2. Cut through the rear panel holding bracket -- get a cutting of 5/6mm steel, bore 2 holes in it & use this as a connector piece.
If & when you need to change rear tyre, unbolt the holding bracket at the back and take the wheel off easy peasy --- only took me hours to work it out -- G

No need to go through all that.Just cut a small piece off the tip of the inside legshield bracket on the nearside.The wheel can be removed without letting any air out and the panel still fits in place ok.

Just bought a Spanish S2 with this done. Wish I'd done it years ago on the Italian one. Only need to take about 15mm off the inside arm.

Having the correct length S2 shock fitted makes all the difference. If you have a S3 shock the angle of the engine in the frame is different and the wheel won't come out without deflation.
