Try giving it a few firm taps with a rubber mallet while working the kickstart.

heating with a blow torch might help to get it started

bolt the engine back in properly to avoid damage
pour boiling water on it repeatedly wire brush the crud of and with a good quality dead blow hammer( thor brand) and really give many good glancing blows ( the nylon faces won't mark it), hook a slide hammer onto the kick-start or take the oil level and oil plugs out and feed a wire between then pull a rope through and tie that to a slide hammer or sledgehammer shaft and swing it away from the case, remove any studs that will come out ,
ebay dead blow hammer( thor brand) 1.5kg and slidehammer to see what I mean

thanks everyone for your rplies. I was able to remove by tapping on the clutch lever and breather back and forth. It finally came off with no damage. Now any ideas on getting the old stusk on gasket off?

Soak it in something like wd40 or smear grease on to soften it and use a gasket scraper - bit like a Stanley blade on its side - being careful not to score the gasket face.
