I have just fitted a new cable inboard disc assembly. Very nice to. The speedo drive coupling that screws into my old hub is nylon and appears to be a different fitting to the new one. My lower inner speedo cable has a small brass bush fitted to the inner cable.
This will not slide into the new brass speedo drive. I have an ebay speedo with the thicker inner cable type fitting.
Am I missing something or have I got the inner cable the wrong way round.

The small brass bush fits on the outer cable and is "trapped" between the speedo drive coupling outer that holds the nylon drive and the knurled sleeve that screws onto the speedo drive coupling outer, this stops the cable from coming out.
Just re-read the original message,mori63 is correct.

Without seeing it I would say the inner cable is upside down ,the brass bush normally goes at the speedo end .

Mori, you are a star, that's what was running through my grey matter. I have been looking in Stickys book all afternoon to no avail. It did fit my old hub ??
