AF Regulator question

I use a 3 pin regulator from an original AF ac electronic ignition ,having recently changed the flywheel and stator to a BGM type ,everything is running fine. I keep looking at the top two connections and am sure they were once the other way round, the feed to the loom and the big yellow one from the stator. so does it make a difference if they are? A bit long winded and the scoots running fine,but.....

Makes no difference which one goes where as one is an in and the other is an out, with it making no difference if they get swapped over.
