Finding Neutral?

Postby landybretta » Tue May 03, 2016 7:25 pm

Series 3 LI 150 (185). Since having the rear hub bearing replaced I am having trouble engaging neutral when coming to a stop.
Can get all of the gears okay when riding but find it very difficult to get neutral. Sometimes have to use both hands or plenty of revs to get in.
Clutch & gear cables all nearly new and adjusted.
Any ideas?

Something wrong there! I'd want to revisit the gearbox and clutch to see that all is well. Clutch function would be my first suspect/

Good luck.

When I have had problems selecting neutral, I have found it easier to find neutral with the clutch disengaged. Without the clutch, the gear box will often find neutral with some ease. It should not clunk into neutral.

Having said that, Adam's advice is sound. Fix the cause; it is better than my work-around.

Had same problem recently after changing my clutch plates, simply needed to adjust the clutch cable. Not saying thats your solution but given your recent work and the possibility that your new cables are stretching a little as they bed in it will be worth checking.
