I've got an early pm tuning front disc brake, calliper on the left side, the outer speedo cable doesn't attach to the speedo drive. im not 100 % that the speedo drive is from pm tuning but it looks like the one on the website, any thoughts

If it's a five spoke wheel it's likely from a Zip

If its a very early one i think the drive is the same as a Vega , I had one of the first double discs and the calibration was way off ,

Veglia make/ made those type of speedo drives to fit different bikes so it's very likely the one PM fit may not be a Vega 10" one which is why the speedo reads wrong. The Vega one also doesn't use a threaded stub to fasten the outer cable, it has an internal thread on the brass stub to screw the outer into it.

As said, if it's a genuine Vega one the outer screws onto the brass stub. Easiest way is to remove the drive from the hub and screw the outer in. You may need to strip back some of the sheathing on the cable to get enough inner to screw in. Fit a normal sleeve over the join.
