Stator Testing

Last week my rear shock snapped and today I cannot get a spark.
We where wondering if the rear of bike dropping might have weakened hit lead or if Stator is simply knackered.
I'm going replace ht lead to eliminate that but is there a simple way ( have no testing kit) to test if stator is the issue?
I'm running Casa 12v electrics as far as I'm aware ( not long had scooter)

try kicking ver with green wire from stator by case see if you are getting a spark
could you have given your cdi a whack

Check that the cable from the stator didn't get 'chopped' by the engine bump stop hitting the frame....happened to me last year with a lot of weight on the back, a broken shock could do it too.

Thanks and yes we are also looking at that as a possible cause.

A simple multi meter is worth having in the tool kit for quick checks

Hi, might not be.
But when I had a collasped shock it 'pinched' the HT lead and shorted it to earth killing my spark.
Worth a look all along the Ht especially around the spring area.

If the Ht lead doesn't have enough slack it may well pull out of cap as the head swings away from the frame as it drops.
