Nova Problems!

Postby Nozzer » Mon May 30, 2016 7:40 pm

Bought a series 3 with Nova, done all the work on it and got a MOT, sent of to register it and all forms came back saying that the Nova form and number I sent off was not recognised on the system. I now have to re do the nova form. Trouble is, when I go to do it online and it asks for the supplier, there is a section for the name and address but the country is only an EU country, not the UK?

So my question is, who do I put down as the supplier. The person I bought it off in Yorkshire? And why would it not be recognised, is it a false NOVA?

I'm confused and hacked off. All I want to do is ride!

1st post by the way, sorry its a bit of a rant!

Not an expert but I have just done my first one last week and went down the self supplier route. Only obstacle I had was it would only accept a 17 digit vin No. Wouldn't accept the stars in the number so I left out the stars, put in the igm No and it took it. Don't know if that will give me problems further down the line but the dating certificate has it correctly so fingers crossed.

the v55 has to be in the same notation as the nova, exactly as printed , dvla are fussy and expect you to modify the nova form, you can do private written nova applications to an Revenues address in dover, do not worry they are not after us they are after the vat on new grey import cars, but the computer says no!

So are you suggesting to not do the online version and print the form and fill that out? For the supplier, would you suggest to put the name and address of the person I bought it off then?

Thanks for the help. I will call hmrc tomorrow, obviously the form came back Saturday which meant I havnt been able to contact them and its been stewing my mind all weekend!!

Thanks for all the help.

I NOVA'd a Serveta LIS frame, bought off Ebay, using the online form.

Used the suppliers address in Lincolnshire and then just selected Italy from the drop down box - result - NOVA form safely filed away.

None of you have mentioned the 17 digit vin No which I had a problem with, did anyone else?
