Nile Green?

Postby 507VBH » Sun Jun 05, 2016 9:24 pm

Hi,

My tatty series 2 has what I think is Nile Green panels and horncast. However it looks more blue-turquoise in most places. Does Nile Green end up looking bluish after 55 years? The inside of the panels is definitely greenish. If I use some rubbing compound will the outside of the panels turn more green?

Cheers!

Well, it won't do them any harm, so try it and see.

That isn't Nile Green, Nile green is much more green.

My friend has a nile green Lambretta and he got the paint made up from a original tin of touch up he had in the glove box.

I have a photo but I can't do photos here.

The inside is Nile Green as it matches the 8015 rattle can paint! People with better colour vision than I have reckon the paint is quite green in some places
I guess it has not faded evenly over the decades.

The colour in your photo looks more like Flaminia Blue (8032).

You could try Lambretta Paints: http://www.lambretta-paints.co.uk/

You can email them from their website, and they will send you free paint sample swatches.

The colour quoted by Vittorio Tessera is: 04T pastel Blue A (Suzuki), which you may already know.

The Dupont code is: K7920, and the Autocolours code is: GE29. Any good paint sprayshop should be able to mix up this paint for you.

I hope this helps.

I've got a 8015 swatch from Lambretta paints and this is a pretty good match in most places in daylight. Under the fluorescent tubes in my garage it does look more blue as in the picture!

Cheers
