I'm looking to change current set up of a jetex 24mm carb & 42mm clubman to a better carb and expansion pipe on my GP200. I don't do great distances, usually round town stuff and sometimes 2 up, any advice or recommendations appreciated
Just trying to get a bit more grunt / more responsive, especially when two up, plus had a few issues with the carb and have been advised that jetex aren't the best really
For 2 up and mainly around town riding that you need your power to be made low down, current setup is ideal for that. Sticking an expansion on it if anything will make it worse, as most expansions make there power in the high rev range and you will find yourself have to thrash the nuts of it everywhere
agree with the above.sometimes the jetex floats are a touch too wide on the pin making them stick.5 mins to check and trim with a sharp blade if needed.
Don't put an expansion pipe on if you want to occasionally ride 2 up. You will spend a long time in 2nd and 3rd. A lot of pipes don't get into the power band until you hit 4000 - 4500 rpm.
If you really want to change things maybe try one of the new Scootopia Del Orto copies which are getting good reports and couple that up with a BGM Clubman. Can't see you getting much better than that for what you want. The BGM should give you plenty of low down torque for 2 up and the carb' should be a bit more reliable.
