exhaust options for a TS1

I have the choice of either an early PM pipe, a JL3 or a new TSR evo for my TS1 engine.it is geared and tuned as a rally going scooter and for taking a pillion. Which pipe is best suited then!?many thanks.

JL3 suits TS1 touring perfectly, the only downside is the ground clearance, especially 2-up. That said, I've been told exactly the same about the TSR. PM works better with shorter gearing and higher revs.

only problem with the TSR on a series 2 is it sits very close to the panel clips and rear boards.it is a good pipe though, may be worth the hassle. How good are the franspeed pipes?

Frans are made by JL and come in a similar range of options; road, fast road, race. There are subtle differences as the Fran range is newer than some of the older JL equivalents but they are similar. I have used a number of JLs over the years and currently run a couple of Frans. Do note that not all parts are interchangeable; mufflers, brackets, stub mounts, rubber/nylon mounts, etc.

I think Franspeed do an equivalent exhaust to the JL3 [Franspeed FR3 or Road]. Same basic expansion but improved rear fitting and end can. There is a S2 version of the Franspeed available which gives better clearance on the rear footboard but not sure if it gives any better panel clearance, you'd imagine it would if it's been designed for that particular model but I'd ask Andy Francis to confirm it.

I've got a S2 version of the Fran Race but it still had panel clearance issues, but this was resolved by using an additional nylon bobbin and longer bolt on the tail can bracket
