Back in the groove again after 16 years

Postby watty-rugby » Wed Aug 03, 2016 8:36 pm

Very happy boy after getting another Lambretta after 16 years. Just need to get used to riding it again after modern motorcycles!

Apart from the Power, handling and Brakes can't imagine much difference at all, I once had a Fireblade and a V**** at the same time.

Red suits the GP so well. One of my attic projects is an Innocenti GP200 that is in its original red paint & I’d be hard pressed to think of an alternative re-colour for it.

May I say (don’t shoot the messenger!) that the stand looks to be one of those ‘currently available’ stainless ones that may be too long.

The angle that it sits @ looks as if your frame/stand brackets might need some attention. If you don’t attend to the problem, the strain eventually breaks the weld of the frame struts to the frame, as I have found on a few scoots... :!:

You'll have to do something about those panel stripes though.

Thank you all. Feeling very good about things. As 68SXandy said, modern motorbikes have power, brakes, handling, smooth ride that doesn't vibrate bits of the bike off. Also on has one neutral in the gearbox. Lambretta gearbox seems to have many!

65 on scooter is as exciting as 130 on the bike mind.
