Remade headset recommendations..

Postby genolambo » Wed Aug 03, 2016 10:36 am

Hi all..

Possibly looking for a replacement headset for a S3 Li chrome ring model.

Could anyone recommend from where I can get a decent one?

Its an issue with my current headset bottom, the lug for the throttle roller stop. It seems to be worn away. Could anyone measure theres and give me an approx measurement as to what it should be?

Thanks in advance

Try Martin Girvin on FB. Might possibly be on here. Goes by the name of Fatbloke.

Surely the problem with the throttle stop can be repaired.Try drilling and tapping and a bolt inserted with a peice of bent metal fastened with the bolt.

As has been suggested, you can make a stop by using a bolt.

I do so whenever I substitute a gear pulley with the larger radius to give a ‘quicker’ throttle for use with Ø30 mm & bigger carburetors. The longish M5 or M6 bolt fits in the spare hole (Oooer!) with a nut to clamp it in place & the remaining stem hits the nearby casting web to act as the stop.

You should be able to do something similar, whatever pulley you utilise....
