Hi,
Can anyone recommend a suitable 12V battery that will fit a series 2 battery tray?
Cheers

Hi 507VBH,
As no-one has replied .I use a Yuasa YB5L-B 5amp conventional battery size l120mm,w 60mm h 130mm but its in a series 3 with wassell d.c conversion.I see you have sorted out your bulb blowing with a new 5 pin regulator that will trickle charge your battery. Yuasa is a good make I bought a slightly cheaper battery for one of my scoots only to find it was not holding its charge 15months later and so bought another yuasa.
Perhaps an adult can answer this related question:
Why do some scoots have an AC setup but with battery trickle charge which is D.C?.Is it because rear brake is battery powered so braking doesn't dim headlight as I have read somewhere or because parking lights were mandatory in the sixties ( cars in the street had a small light hooked over off side door window)

The Shorai batteries are good and will fit in a standard tray. They are lighter and more powerful than lead acid type and are maintenance free.
