Another jetting problem

Postby Revvers » Thu Aug 25, 2016 6:25 pm

Hello. I have a Mugello 185, Ancillotti exhaust and 28 mil de'llorto phbh. I have replaced the 55 pilot jet with a 53 and the 92(!) main jet with a 102. The mixture screw was wound right out, as was the idling screw after a trip to a mechanic(!) anyway, middle to top end is running sweet. The problem is with starting, in that it won't. When I did eventually start the old girl, she ran then I blipped the throttle and she then died, revving it did nothing. Wont start again
Now, the jets I've changed, as per the cam lam web site spec for my set up. I'm thinking the problem lies with that mixture screw (?) so... Is it too lean, or too rich? And am I right that it is the mixture and not the new pilot jet?? Thanks

The more you screw the mixture out ,the richer it gets.Try screwing all the way in ,then back out a couple of turns and start the motor. You may be still too rich with the 53 pilot,so get hold of a 45, 48 and 50 to try.Start with the biggest first and work down but the motor should run on choke when cold,if it won't then you may have another problem.
