Outboard disc spindle?

Postby Leotech » Tue Aug 30, 2016 10:38 am

I recently bought a used pepper pot type outboard disc assembly. It has SPAQ stamped on it.

It has a counterbore in the brake calliper carrier plate to suggest an original type Lambretta disc spindle with the shoulder should be used?

Is that the case?

I've never used an out board disc before as I've always been to anal about originality!

Some use the shouldered spindle and the early ones used a shouldered nut but sometimes the nut forces the wheel off centre between the fork legs. I'd go for the shouldered axle, but the link peg cutout needs to be rebated on the carrier as well.If it isn't then you need the shouldered nut and standard axle.
