Hi can anyone suggest where I can get some suitable fibre pads for the inside of the cylinder head cowling. Stickys book recommends them but can't seem to find anyone who sells them.
Also what is the best type of sealant to use on a jl exhaust sections.
Many thanks Mark

I have a sheet of cork I picked up from an autojumble (Normous Newark) years ago. It's about 2mm thick at most. Needing some of these antivibration gaskets myself recently, I sought out the cork and then, using scissors, cut out three postage stamp size gaskets from the cork and glued them in using contact adhesive, placing them on the inside of the cowl according to the positions shown in Sticky's book.

Try Wilkos. They sell a strip of Cork pads, usually situated with the nuts and screws.
Thanks

I also use wine bottle corks but cork floor tiles would work too.
Re the sealant, I have recently discovered JB Weld High Temperature Silicon. It's red in colour and although it's intended temp range is maybe a bit lower than ideal, it's a lot closer than any other sealant and had lasted very well on my Franspeed.
