MB Flange Type Manifold

Does anyone gave any experience of the new flange type manifolds on the MB RT195. I've got a normal manifold where the carb is at an angle, but struggling to get an air filter installed. Looking for a manifold so the carb sits squarer and closer into the manifold, so I can get my Breathe Sweet elbow on without it being crushed by the panel.
These flange ones look much shorter than a normal manifold even with the bolt on rubber.

I use one with an air box and a Vhst dellorto. Could easily use a breath sweet. Carb sits where a standard carb would.
