Which size RAMAIR filter for 22mm Dellorto airhose?

Which size RAMAIR filter do I need to fit a standard for 22mm Dellorto airhose? I was going to order one off fleabay here:

The ones I've made in the past used a 45mm inner diameter. I used some plumbing tubing [about 42mm] as a bridging piece between hose and filter and used 2 jubilee clips. I found the hose is too soft to fit on the filter directly.

Am I right in thinking that longer / bigger filters will allow more air into the carb, to prevent problems such as "bogging" down?
