i am having problem with clutch i have engine rebuilt when i pull clutch lever on engine when in gear it will not disengage unable to work out engine is on bench

If your trying to depress the clutch by using the lever on top of the engine,you cant do it by hand.You need to use an open ended spanner on the lever,or connect it up using the cable and handlebar lever.

hi ive tried the spanner on the lever but it wont disengage do you think the clutch hasnt been put back properly

did it compress when you were putting it together using the clutch compressor? also is the arm solid or does it move but have no affect on the clutch?

There's a little clutch plunger that can drop off the actuating lever when you put the cases together. If there's no resistance when you pull the lever, then that could be the problem. Irritating when it happens. It looks like this:

i have found problem i made clutch compressor and took plates apart guess what plates rusted together i expected the man who rebuilt engine to put new plates .trust eh

Rusted together ? they should be metal,cork, metal, cork no metal surfaces should be together
