series 3 front mudflap

Postby peejay » Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:24 pm

this design has proved very successfull in keeping most debris away from cables and wiring loom under the front mudguard

the one shown here is actually 100mm longer than the template above, while on the move it tends to protect the electrics of the foot brake

made from 2mm thick rubber it's simply fixed to the four longer mudguard bolts using penny washers to spread the load

even this very long version hardly notices when parked up

Looks good for a winter mod on the series 2.

This isn't the modern way! Surely you should be getting a load made for thruppence and flogging them for 25 quid a pop?!

Thanks for the info, looks very self, especially as i don't use a splashguard. Where did you get the rubber from?

to be honest i just can't be assed to take orders and bother with postage etc but if you really want one for £25 i suppose i could do one :)

rubber is 2mm thick and bought from Portmere Rubber company, Southampton. i think they have other branches
