Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

Hi,
I want to find the engine number for a long-departed Li150 series 2. I have got the frame number but I can find no way to get the engine number. The DVLA vehicle check shows it as being on their system up to 1981. The frame number I got from the county records office but they do not hold the engine numbers. Anybody got any idea where this information could be obtained?
Cheers!

Are you talking about 507 VBH. Bucks only recorded the frame or chassis number to the allocated registration number.
The engine number was recorded on the log book of course so you could apply to the DVLA for a copy of the microfilmed log book at the time of the issue of the V5 document.

Thanks! Are you saying that I could get a copy of the old brown logbook from the DVLA?

Engine numbers mean, more or less, bugger all unless it's a Spaniard - certainly has no bearing on a vehicle's identity.

you can get a photocopy of the log book that was submitted to the DVLA when you sent it in to have a V5 document issued.
if this was done they microfilmed the old log book before it was destroyed.
If you did not do this then you won't get one.
