Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

So I removed the chain cover to repair a broken stud. One of the larger ones. I noticed a piece of metal lodged between the case wall and the chain guard. Unfortunately it is a tooth off one of the gears. Not first gear as you can see that gear. It's the only one I found. Will it be okay to leave alone for now, or will it give trouble?
Thanks

Out ! Another broken tooth could easily lodge between the gear clutter and lock the gearbox up. Not a pleasant experience at any speed.

You also want to examine all the gears and cluster for signs of damage.

It needs stripping and checking.Check every moving part in the gearbox, especially the teeth on the loose gears, the teeth on the cluster, all the rollers on the chain and front and rear sprockets and all the bearings.

I think this thread needs a more accurate title.

Took it all apart. 3rd gear lost a tooth. All other gears, bearings look good. Ordered new gear. Glad I did it. Now no worries.
