Delly phbh Which needles match which atomisers?

Postby Gtwildcat » Sat Aug 09, 2014 10:22 pm

Just about to piss about with my jetting on my 30mm phbh dellorto after fitting an MB pipe to my cast iron 225, it's thrown my jetting out as expected but I need a little guidance on needles and atomisers

John, I can vouch for AV264 working well with x 13 with a filter. This is on both on my TS1 and GT186.

My old notes also indicate the following work OK together on scooters too:

AV266 and x7, x2, x13
AV264 and x2

Oh, AV are shorter and, therefore, leaner than AS. AS work better on bikes.

This is far from comprehensive and I'm also aware, for example, that AV268 is relatively common on Lambrettas too.

I hope this is a good start :)

Thanks mate, I'm gonna strip the carb tomoz and check all the jetting, I'm suprised how much changing from 48mm Af clubman to MB pipe has affected jetting, it was running slightly rich as was which was great as no heat seize ever but changed pipe made it it unrideable at low revs in the way to the MOT station, I dropped the needle to the top clip and it's cleaned right up and ran like a motorcrosser but it's a little weak on the plug and hot under the panels.

Yes, apologies. Scooters tend to need richer jetting than bikes, hence, AV are richer than AS.

I'm trying to message you back Paul but the PM thing keeps saying general error??? I will keep you posted on the differences ok mate. Cheers john.

Ps if you need a exhaust as yours is broken you can have the 48mm Af Ive just taken off if you want it, it needs a paint but it's yours if you want it
