handle bars

Postby gazzar15 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 12:11 am

Couple of things chaps .I have a series 3 LI and wondering where the best place is to get side panel flashes ?
Also I have had my handle bars vapour blasted and the finished article looks somewhat boring. What do people finish these with? Is it possible to get the bits that are seen chrome plated whilst masking the bits that are hidden by the grips?
Thanks

Paint? You can get the panel flashes and switch from Scootopia.

To be honest I'm not quite sure what you're saying here. You've had your handlebars blasted and "they look boring." Well, they would be bare alloy, and it would be normal to paint them. As regards the "bits that are seen" do you mean the switches and gear, throttle mountings? They would normally be polished and it's probably far more practical to buy a replacement switch. And yes, you would mask the "bits that are hidden by the grips" during the painting of the headset. Sorry if this sounds a bit picky, but it's not entirely clear from your original question what you mean exactly.

That will help, but to answer your original question the headset top and bottom can be chromed and they can be masked off where the chrome isn't to be applied. Choose a quality chromer who knows scooter parts.

Paint, though, is the normal finish.
