GP200 Headlight

Postby 69GP225 » Wed Jan 11, 2017 9:21 pm

Hello,

Did gp200s come with glass or plastic lens or did they transition to plastic a certain year.
Been offered a nod bosatta headlight but it's plastic?

Thanks lee

Just my personal opinion, but I wouldn't touch a plastic Bosatta one with a barge pole. I fitted one on my GP and it was atrocious. The worst headlight I've ever had, and downright dangerous. If you're looking for one I'd recommend the Scootopia headlight unit. That's what I changed too, and thank goodness I did. A vast improvement. And a perfect fit.

Thank you.

It's a complete headlight unit and I'm only interested in the rim fitment. Do you happen to know if the bossata rim fits good.
Thanks lee

I didn't use it. I think I might have tried it to see what it was like, and I don't remember it being any better or worse than another rim. But I already had a Scootopia one fitted and that was perfect. Honestly, if you're just after a rim I'd go for one of those. Fit a treat right out of the bag. And you won't be left with the useless plastic headlight then.

Nope, only glass fitted at the factory, however, there was a fairly long period of time when you could only get the plastic ones as a replacement. As such you could easily have an example that has had a plastic one fitted for over 20 years, making it seem aged, but it wouldn't be original.
