I've been able to have a look and have I think, identified the problem.

The Anti dive bar does not come with the sharks teeth fitment that allows the fork link peg to locate to.
My fork links are the the peg type (sticky page 217) , the Hydraulic brake comes with the sharks tooth for drum links with pegs to slot in. This why my lad bolted the 2 together, because without the the Hydraulic plate, the fork link would be left hanging.
My supplier claims that the Anti Dive does fit drum/peg type set ups, but I'm stumped on how you could use it with out anything to locate the peg into.
There is probably an easy way to do it, but I can't see for looking!

Suggestions on the back of fag packet welcomed. :D

Cheers

As I've previously posted the link doesn't connect to the caliper mounting plate [is that what you're referring to to as sharks teeth?] That's why it doesn't have one. You need to remove the old caliper mounting plate. The anti dive caliper mounting plate connects to the fork leg via the tie bar, it cannot and must not be connected to the link. You've got drum links by the sound of it [not got Sticky's book to hand]. The stub on the link connects into the groove on the speedo housing to stop the speedo housing from spinning.

Your supplier is correct. Anti dive set ups will fit drum or disc links. It doesn't matter which links because they DON'T connect to the caliper mounting plate.
