Saddle Seats Fitting

Guys -- is there a simple way of fitting saddle seat brackets to the frame? Do you loosen the main bolt with the spring to take the actual seat off the frame 1st to get clear access to the top of the bolts or just try to tighten the nuts a tiny bit at a time?

there's enough room to put a spanner on the top to hold the bolt then use a socket on the nut on the under side
