Alloy runner strips

Postby mr mugello » Fri Mar 03, 2017 9:56 am

Fitting pattern runner alloys on legshield. The outside pair cover a hole on legshield. Should a hole be drilled in alloy channel for bolt fitting ? Thanks

Is that the hole for the flat headed nut and bolt combo that holds the mudguard on?

Their the lower mudguard fasteners and should be fastened first. If you've got a 2nd edition copy of Stickys book, its in there on page 237.

It sounds like the holes for the "top hat" fitting on either side.

I'm away from scoot at present to check , but is there a screw head the that the runner cover's over without needing to go through the metal channel ? The old runner s I took off were pattern from 15 odd years ago and are the same as my new replacement ones. Was reading Paul Slacks Lambretta restoration blog on LI series 3 and he mentions he had to drill a missing hole out . This is why I'm not sure how and can't remember how my old runners were fixed down here.

The only screw heads that are under the floor channels are the bottom mudguard securing screws. These are on the inside channel not the outside.

Thanks for info. Will check back tonight to see what's what, but a hole either side is covered over completely by one of the channels on both matching sides

I apologize. Checking back. It's the inside pair of channels, which are covering the bottom mudguard hole up. Is this how it should be ?

Should it be a countersunk screw head under the metal channel for correct fitment hear ?
