Calling all Experts -- can anyone give a step by step & any tickery in taking out fitting a new kickstart oil seal? -- Cheers Guys -- G

just remove the kick start shaft hook the old seal out the put a light coat of engine oil on the outer edge of the new seal then it should just push back in if it's a bit tight use a socket the same size as the seal lay the side case on a flat surface and gently tap the seal home using the back of the socket as a drift

It is possible to remove and fit the oil seal without removing the side case or the kickstart shaft.Be careful when fitting that you dont catch the oil seal lip on the kickstart shaft splines.

To do it without removing the sides case is the order

1. Kickstart off
2. Circlip off
3. Spacing washer off
4. Hook old seal out
5. Somehow cover the splines of the kick start
6. Oil up the seal & push home?

all with the famous words --- it's as simple as that?

Yes.To protect the lip of the oil seal,I usualy cut the neck off a plastic coke bottle and use that.
