I think the best look is converting the oe Li type switch, then all looks stock at that point... I have done that on my Serveta, although sometimes it is a little tricky to turn the indicators off with your thumb as you want to roll the throttle on, eg exiting a roundabout.

thanks for that but i'm using a SX/Special type switch and am hoping to fit something below that.

I have had that arrangement on my Jet for some time now but the contacts are a bit hit and miss It's worse turning left, it requires the rocker to be pressed in with the thumb and then I have to transfer my thumb to the back of the bit of the rocker that's now sticking out and give it a further shove all the while glancing at the warning light to see if it has worked. I have a C90 switch now and feel a visit to CS Engineering is in the offing

I should point out that the switch mentioned above was purchased as new old stock with indicator switch from a well known supplier but was in fact a plain light switch and it took a fair bit of fettling to get it to work as an indicator switch

The indicators looked so wrong,I removed them.
I have kept all the parts (switch,relay etc),I'll post pictures later.

i was going to detail how i wired up my sx200 to fit indicators but from reading the thread
it seems that whats really wanted is an easy to follow article on how to wire up a set of indicators
onto a series 3 lammy with the li type switch gear with a battery system and a standard ignition switch?

so what ive done is sent away for a beedspeed indicator unit and when i get that back ill use this
along with the indicators and VWP indicator kit to show you how to wire it all up

on my sx200 i went and made my own loom as i was adding more than just indicators and was changing
it over to a 12v wassel dc system

below is a basic wiring diagram i made up to show how the indicators were wired up (without the idiot light)



and with the headset part zoomed in on



you see i rewired the original switch to use as an indicator unit but with the beedspeed item
it has 8 wires coming out of it rather than 7 that i used and so might have a dedicated feed
for the idiot light which saves a lot of grief putting diodes and connectors on but i wont find that out
till i get the switch delivered

i can add a few photos of how i wired up my wassel conversion if people are intrested
but i think this has been well covered before in other threads

On my Bajaj sadly I don't have any pics of it in place, I put in the lip between top and bottom a pair of flexible waterproof LED strips I got cheapo from ebay, held in place at first with the 3m tape and then I devised a pair of clips to snag them on the base part with a pair of pliers, worked very well but needed to change flasher to LED and very visible.

Something I have always wondered about, are the Serveta/Jet front indicators just PX indicators or are they dedicated units for the Lambretta?

Not PX or Indian although very similar in fit but slightly different shade of orange...

I never thought of using these as when I took the fugly horncast off me Bajaj these would have been ideal not wanting to cut the legshields for PX units and I ended up using some mini pod LED's as well as the indicator LED strips.

If we're showing original fittments, here's mine, I actually think they look ok and with the led mod I mentioned above are very bright.

When it comes to parts Dimitrios, you have an above-average shed.

I struggle to find a spare cable or an M7 nut, whereas you have NOS in every department of Lambretta. Amazing.

Thanks Martin,a good friend of me was an official from the 60s Lambretta and later Serveta dealer.
He was also running the official Lambretta workshop near to my neighborhood,I just took a small part of his remaining stock,
it is not impressive but better than nothing.

Been thinking about the switch side of it and I like the idea of the modified LI switch. I know a single toggle switch on some form of bracket is the simplest, but I dont like the look. Rocker switches are another way but you have to push the opposite side to turn the buggers off and with gloves on it will be harder still. I have been thinking about buttons, 1 for left and another for right. Latchable buttons are available but long making any housing big. So Im moving towards smaller momentary switches that you press once to latch a relay with a third reset button that drops the latch to turn off. Any thoughts on buttons? Im thinking MOT as in theory both sides could be engaged at the same time. is this a no no.

Hi Mk Monty,
Before I decided to use the simpler toggle switch and bracket I did consider using 2 foot operated switches installed in the legshield lefthand floor channels
Just a thought if you dont want to alter the look of handle bars.
