PROGRESSIVE FORK SPRINGS

Rebuilding my forks and putting progressive springs in....question is,which way round? Tighter coils to top or vice versa?

Can't see it makes any difference as long as they are both the same a spring is a spring a adult will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong

There is a difference but it's a bit like saying your lambretta is faster if you have a poo before you go for a ride.

Tight coils to the top though.

Why is this?

It reduces unsprung mass and thereby allows the suspension to react more quickly to the road surface.

Any object will accelerate faster if it's inertia (mass in this case) is lower.

Nevertheless, it's so marginal that it's neither hither nor thither.
