Apologies if this has been done to death but I can't find an answer that I fully understand.
.
Don't confuse me with talk of full DC or wassel systems.
I simply want to know which regulator and where (apart from ebay) I can get one.
Which v*spa regulator is a direct swap for a BGM one to give me ac electrics with a DC trickle charge to top up a battery to run an sip speedo and charge a phone?
There appear to be more than one type of 5 pin.

Mine too -had 2 and every time I fit them they work OK, then when I actually go to use them 6 months later they're dead as a doornail.
I suspect they are simply not robust enough to cope.

Marty,
My recollection is that the five pin regulator/rectifier requires power from a battery to work. If your battery goes flat, it will not work and it will not charge your battery if it does not work.
The stator often needs to be re-wired, with two coils providing power to the lights (AC) and two coils dedicated to providing the DC pins.
This info may be a little out of date but it is why many people have opted for the simpler Wassel set-up, but I respect your choice to go this route.

Jumper a wire from AC lighting output on regulator to pin 4 and you will get your trickle charge from pin 5.
