Hi There,
I am restoring a LI 150 Special Eibar and don't seem to be able to get a decent manual to work to, the front forks I've recently stripped don't seem right for the scoot got lots of grinding marks all over them not sure they are any good any ideas please

Hi a few years on I'm now back to continue restoring my Lambretta had a turbulent last 3 years but back on track now having trouble removing the Flywheel I have the correct tools but the thread inside the flywheel looks lie some one has had a chisel to it so I need to know the correct Tap to use to re thread any suggestions cant find it in my Sticky's manual. Thanks Pete

If your flywheel has two windows you will need a two claw puller,if it has three,then you need a three claw puller.Feed the claws of the puller through the windows and tighten the centre bolt until the claws locate on the inside of the flywheel,carry on turning the centre bolt and it should draw the flywheel off the taper.

You'll be lucky to run a tap down it prior to removal. It would need to be hollow, for one thing.

Some extractors are double ended with the correct thread & even I have one!

I would suggest you try & screw in the correct extractor, even if you have to dress the end to a taper & add shallow slots to get it started. It sounds a bodge, but even a dab of grinding paste can help clean up the flywheel thread!

If you can get an extractor in, then you can remove it & cut off the taper/slotted part & use it as it should be to remove the flywheel as it should be done. They are usually too long with spare thread....Then, with a lot of luck & copious amounts of penetrating oil....

Thanks, I've cleaned the threads and did manage to get my old extractor in but it just stripped the threads on the extractor it's only ali so didn't expect much else definitely on solid I'll keep plugging away I've got a new flywheel so maybe just cut it out nothings ever easy on these is it lol.

If you think it only stripped because it's aluminium then it might be worth buying a new one. Mine is carbon steel and I thought they all were. 10 to 15 quid on eBay. Might be worth it just to save going through the unpleasantness of having metal apart.
