Dellorto 22/2 starting

Postby eadmr04 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:16 pm

Got an GP200 with 42mm clubman and standard 22/2 Dellorto but with 124 main jet. When cold it fires every time but cuts out straight away until about the 4th or 5th time and then you can gradually open the throttle to get it warmed up. If I try to open the throttle slightly at the beginning it just cuts out. After about 4 or 5 kicks it fires up and sits on the choke nicely ticking over quite well and then you can turn the choke of and it's fine. It's just the initial first few kicks where it won't quite pick up. Any suggestions?

Plug is a B8ES NGK. What size is the next choke jet up?

You haven't told us what size it is, but 50 is standard I think. I wouldn't have thought it would need any more than that. Have you checked to see that it is opening fully? If you remove the elbow and shine a light up the orifice you'll be able to see if it's working or not. It may be that it just needs some adjustment on the cable.

Think I've sorted it, thanks for suggestions was just a matter of fine tuning the choke I think.
