Just started a rebuild on a S1 frame breather. I'm missing the head set and horn case. In fact all I have is a frame.. So missing everything.
Found a re made option on eBay £220. Re made in India. Does any body have any experience with these?
Good, bad or leave well alone?
Better still if anybody has an original Please PM me or any spare parts for the frame breather?

these can be terrible,
very heavy and badly cast
you will find originals but the horn casts are expensive £250 to £400
pair of handlebars should go for around £150 with the clamp, and £250 with switch housings, gear change and rods
the scootrs pressed steel horncasts using a ser 2 round grill are good but where you will get one now is another issue now they are trade only ( try ressurection scooters or just lambretta)
theres a pair on ebay no 201902837485 loads of heat and dunk in a bucket of cold water repeatedly they do come apart eventually

I bought some from India off eBay.
The casting was rough and the headset top and bottom were a pretty lousy fit. Took a lot of dremel action to get them in decent shape. The headset still needs a bit more work to get it perfect. The hornacasting isn't bad (although the grill was dreadful and there is a fillable nick at the top of the grill hole.
I complained to the seller (who had described them as "genuine" parts. Got a discount. Paid £150 including the postage
If you want to take a chance you can have them for what I paid as I haven't used them. My intent was to use the horncast on my API Lamby but I've never got round to making a bracket whilst I've rebuilt the engine
Like everything from India (except the flawless music) you pays your money, you takes your chance.

I had considered fibre leg shilds , mudgard and panels to keep the weight down. Didn't know they did head sets and horn cases??? Now that's an idea. Thanks Gaz.

They do the horncast and the headset top. But not the bottom for structural reasons, I imagine.

Forgive my ignorance but is a S1 headset bottom same as S2?? Scooter restorations have API Lamby 150/Mac 175 bottoms at the good price - I used one on my S2 build

Gaz,
The head light on a S1 is in the horn case, where an S2 is in the head set. My avatar is my S2.
