Scooter transport

Postby wurzel » Thu May 11, 2017 8:08 pm

Hi, does anyone know of any dedicated scooter couriers ?

Reason I ask is I normally take or pick them up myself if I've got time
but last year I had one delivered and they'd strapped it down by the
headset and snapped the gear change side off.
They did pay for the headset but some of these parts are getting a
bit thin on the ground.

Cheers in advance.

P.s. It's from Essex to the North East

There's been somebody advertising this service on Facebook (Lambretta For Sale & Wanted Group, I think)

Coincidentally, I've just towed my trailer in an 160 mile round trip for a mate & he rewarded me handsomely (I thought) with £50 to cover costs plus a dinner, but I suppose there are issues with insurance...

I've used Shipley

Straight forward - put the details of scooter & Pickup and drop off postcode and wait for people to bid for the job. If you are flexible on collection and drop off then it's better

Loads of specific bike movers on there- each with feedback on previous jobs

Cost me £80 to move a scooter 250+ miles - took 2 days. Loads of communication all the way though. Was cheaper than going for it myself

As a precaution though - make sure you know what you are buying!

I used this company this week to transport my Lammy from London to North Yorkshire.
http://www.movingmotorcycles.co.uk.
They are based in Swanley Kent, but the guy that transports up North lives near Thirsk.
£150.
