Seats for comfort

Any recommendations for a short comfy seat. Got a Snetterton and a number Arse!

*thinking possibly a saddle type with or without seat cover??

I don't think many are very comfortable if your doing a lot of miles but wait for the lad's and lasses to get back from the Euro I'm sure they will be able to advise you on what's good or bad especially after the miles they will have just done.

Airhawk do one that will fit a snetterton seat well.

Airhawk small cruiser pillion fits a square back ancilotti type seat nicely, should work well with a snetterton.

No one believes me ....but this is the comfiest seat ive had .....just done 3000 miles on the Euro ....and nearly 10000 miles last year . No cover (but i do wear riding gear) , its like riding with the air conditioning on , the position of the seat is important with saddles though , ive modified this one to suit my prefered position

Several people have commented that saddle seat without a cover is very comfortable. If I were to go down that route I would need to move the seat backwards (or just have a rear one) as like yourself Carlos, at 6'3" there's no way I could ride with a saddle seat in any comfort

I have been using an Airhawk Medium Pillion in an Ancilotti seat foe a few years now and swear by it....however, it developed a leak on the way back from Adria which was devastating When it got to the point that it would only stay up for a few minutes I was forced to improvise.

I used a cheap inflatable pillow stuffed inside the Airhawk cover and the rear half strapped down with gaffer tape. It fealt very weird on twisty roads (got used to it) but was perfectly fine (dare I say better) than the Airhawk on the motorways. This got me about 500 miles

Open springs on a series 1 saddle work for me as well.

Or I have a wooden seat that works fine

Well i usually end up sitting on the center bar on a std seat ....so this is how i decided on the position of mine ( im about 5'10) .....problem is then thats the fuel filler cap position ....so things need fettling ....also the no cover saddle dosent suit the look of most scoots ........i have toyed with the idea of taking tbe cover off a bench seat and using it like that

Ive used a cut off trouser leg and put a spare innertube in it as well .....worked well

Having endured a very sore posterior going to Adria (much worse on hot sweaty days) on a hard standard seat, I'm considering hunting down an old Lynx seat for future Euro adventures. You can ride all day without discomfort on them.

Airhawk! life changing technology. I could not recommend one enough. The trick is to only have just enough air in it so you almost forget it's there.

Agree with that, have a Pegasus on one of mine...would be even better if it didn't have the hump in the middle as that's where I like to sit.

I've invested in a lump of memory foam, for longer runs. I like the Snetterton look, but it ain't comfy. My mates got a fancy seat on his vespa, like sitting on sofa. But unfortunately it's attached to a PX

The problem with foam, including memory foam, is that it does go quite firm when compressed and also gets very warm, that's the beauty of the air hawks as you are sitting on a cushion of air so much softer and cooler

Single saddle by far the comfiest I've ever had. I'm short @ 5'5" and the original seating position suits me fine but for hubby at 6' it's not so comfy on the rare occasion he uses mine. I guess adjusting the position would maybe rectify this if you were only using a single saddle.

I used one on euro this year on my series 1 and its GREAT, 2000 miles and no numb/sore arse like in previous.
Takes a bit of adjusting and needs strapping on tightly as has tendency to slip too easily on single saddle. I also adjust the seat spring to as tight as it will go, which helps stop movement of the saddle.
You won't be disappointed, not cheap though!
