Ha Ha I did the same but was buggered as the ball had a bloody big hole in the underside, No problem he thinks I will fill it with my trusty mig welder. It went well and just needed a bit more so I could file it down, when my ball fell off.

Did you manage to resolve this Mr Mugello?
I am asking as I am thinking of changing my clutch activator arm orientation, clutch plates and springs as I suffer from the same problem - my clutch has to be so taut (to prevent drag) that it's wearing the cable and my fingers out. Also changing gear is an art form in itself.

I was having the same problem on the new J engine so changed to AF Cassette Road clutch and longer dog leg lever and it's fine now,

I bought a set of Camlam's Ultimate soft springs. Still sitting in packet though. Reason being I changed my seat which has helped with my hand ligament strain. I originally had an Elvington short race seat. With my arms fully outstretched in sitting position, putting strain on hand when changing gear. Now using a dual seat and sitting further forward has stopped ligaments over stretching. Sounds unbelievable to find easier clutch use by changing seating. Works for me anyway. Not had problem since. Obviously the clutch is still stiff and a spring change will hopefully improve movement even better.

If you have the cash I would recommend the Rayspeed clutch. I am running the race version in a modified TS1 with no slip and not too much lever effort. Also using a dog leg lever and low friction cable. One final thing check your cable run as this can also affect your clutch lever effort - you need to have no tight bends or kinks in the cable.

Just an update after fitting the set of Ultimate Soft Feel Springs. Still heavy clutch. No noticeable difference to the old uprated springs that were fitted. Moved clutch arm a notch closer forward to more of a 90 degree angle to cable. Did read recently on another post about spring tension that MB springs were showing slightly lighter than Ultimate set so worth a try with these next strip down I think.
