How can you tell if your reeds have 'gone' ? I have vforce 3 reed block the reeds are in good condition fitting flat on the reed housing. Im getting a blat blat sound at low revs and the mootor doesnt seem as crisp as it was .Also who stock v force 3 reeds in this country and are there alternative reeds available?

Usually, reed block issues result in difficult starting and poor tickover.
The Blatt Blatt sound can be a result of the wadding needing replacement in the end can of an expansion chamber exhaust.
What cylinder are you running?

Presumably the reedblock came from AF right?
In which case phone them about replacement reeds. From your initial post.......... I don't think this is your issue though?

If the reeds look good then maybe now the weather has warmed up you may be running slightly richer, had to alter a couple of carbs in the last few weeks. The reeds don't seem to like too rich and I'm sure I read somewhere that that can cause them to fail.

V3's are known to have issues with the reeds which supposedly have been addressed resulting in the V4's. Don't know what the difference is though.
